How to Improve the Speed of Your Computer


    Almost every user of the computers may have the complaint of the low speed of their computer.
Here are some ways to increase the speed of your computer.This may happen due to any virus or accumulation of junk files in the drives, registry etc. When you delete a programme or software, a number of unwanted files remaining undeleted in your system. If you are regular user of internet, the chance of accumulating temporary internet files, cookies etc are more.  As a result of this a large part of your disk space may  loss and the system take more time to read these files which increase the load of the system. Thus the computer becomes slow.

     If you can spend some time for cleaning these files, you can improve the performance of you system considerably.




Let us see the different ways.

1. Clean the Disk
             Open My computer and right click on each drive, select and open the properties.  Then click on disk clean up button. Select the items to be removed.  Also mark a tick to compress the files to get more  disk space.

2.  Delete the temporary files.

              Click on start button, select Run.  Type % temp% and click OK.  Select the temporary files and delete. 

3.  Delete the temporary Internet files.

        Delete the temporary internet files, delete cookies, history etc after the use of internet.

4.  Editing Registry.

       Deleting the unwanted software’s or programs from the computer results some data’s remain in the registry.  This increases the number of files in the registry reducing the speed of the computer.  Do not try to edit the registry, if you don’t have enough knowledge about computer.  Instead of that use any reliable registry editor software. 

5.  Reduce the load of the drive.

         Back up the files and folders which are not in daily use to suitable storage media to reduce the load of the drive.

6.  Use Disk defragment option.

         Open the Disk defragmenter and defrag each drive.  By defragging, arranging all data’s in correct order which helps the system to recollect the data’s easily.

7.  Remove the unnecessary softwares which are not in use.

Do not install unnecessary softwares which use more disk space.

8.  Install a good quality paid Anti- Virus package to control harmful viruses and update it regularly.
